Solarfall Entertainment

An Aspiring Student-Lead Game Development Studio

Over these past couple of years, Solarfall Entertainment has jump started from being a small solo developer to an innovative student-lead game development studio. Our studio was established in 2020 by Ian Tharp, lead game designer and producer with one clear goal in mind- creating fun and immersive stories. We can not wait to start sharing our hand-crafted experiences we are set out to create, and the ones that are currently in development. Using revolutionary technology and the power of Unreal Engine, we hope to bring powerful experiences to our players that make them wanting to come back for more!

Ruined City WIP

Here is a behind the scenes look at our ruined city demo area.

This is a demonstration of lighting presets as well as scale that is envisioned for the game. The scene utilizes Quixel Megascans as well as other UE Marketplace assets. Note that this is a work in progress scene, and used to just demonstrate various graphical envisions for the project.

Experience & Leveling

Demonstration of the current Experience & Leveling System in the game. All of the calculations are written in C++ and are implementable inside of Blueprints. This allows for us to better utilize Blueprint Actors for easier and faster iteration of prototyping systems, abilities, gameplay features, etc.

Based on what class you are will determine whether or not your main attribute gets an additional point when leveling up. In this case, our player is a warrior, so you'll see him gain +2 to Strength.

Ability Demonstration

While the numbers are still being tweaked to be as balanced as possible, from the debug in the top left you can see the damage being applied to the enemy player.

The entire ability was scripted in Blueprints.
